Programme Information

  Aquatots 1,   2 and 3

We have three groups; Aquatots 1 for children between 4months and 1.5yrs old, Aquatots 2 for children between 1.5 and 2.5yrs old and Aquatots 3 for children between 2.5yrs and 3.5yrs old.

All classes are 25 minutes and an adult is required to go into the water.

It is a very dynamic class with lots of colourful toys, singing, splashing and a set routine to build confidence and familiarisation in the aquatic environment. We work on motor development, spatial and body awareness, hand development, vision, balance and posture. Early swimming lessons are an amazing opportunity to bond with your child through close contact and no distractions.

We work in a group of maximum 8 children, every child however practices their skills at their own pace and level.

Expected outcomes for these classes are:

  • Your child should be excited about going swimming. A happy and content child will learn new skills easily

  • Independent floating with and without a floatation aid

  • Propulsion with and without a floatation aid

  • Pop Up breathing

  • Dog Paddle, also being able to change direction

  • Jump off the platform, turn around and swim back to the platform

  • Being able to monkey crawl along the rail

  • Getting in and out of the pool safely using the ladder or climbing out

  • Learning counting, colours and songs for life

  • A love of water activities

Preschool

Pre-School

Under 5’s learn through their senses – therefore we use a multi- sensory approach. Pre-Schoolers learn new skills through movement, it engages their thinking brain. We also reinforce concepts such as colour, shape, number and letters to cement learning. Action and language together develop understanding.

We like you to be involved. Engaging and empowering parents; parents are the key to the child’s learning outcomes.

We have 4 levels:

  • Pre-school 1) Learning Outcomes: Blowing Bubbles, Submerging Face, Floating with Assistance

  • Pre-School 2) Learning Outcomes: Picking up objects from under water, Floating on front and back with support
